The 12th annual Tahoe Cup Paddle Race Series is on for 2020 with the bust-out, bucket-list favorites you've come to expect along with two new, super cool race formats.
Each race features age group and craft categories for OC6 (6-person crews), and individual SUP, OC1, surf ski, and prone classes.
Race Series Overview
Get started in early summer with the returning Loop (previously the Donner Lake Race), where paddlers race over two laps of 4 miles each. Expect to go head-to-head with other OC1, SUP, surf ski, and prone board competitors all competing for a podium spot on this flat, fast, albeit technical course.
Mid-summer brings the whole family to the Grom Festival, our celebration of the next generation of paddlers with a weekend of racing and water games.
In the heart of the Tahoe sunny-weather season, the August Downwinder busts out courtesy of the gusty afternoon thrill-ride winds and swells.
And, of course, the perfect way to cap off your paddling season - experience the world's most beautiful endurance paddling race - the epic Lake Crossing - 18 miles of pure scenic bliss and determination.
Adults racing the Chicane, Downwinder, and the Lake Crossing compete for points available at each race towards the coveted Series Champion awards.
