Carnelian Bay, Calif. – Building on the success of its inaugural season in 2024, the Tahoe Waterman Foundation is proud to announce the launch of its Adaptive and Youth Paddling Programs for Summer 2025 – creating opportunities for healing, growth, and connection through paddle sports on the waters of Lake Tahoe.

The Tahoe Waterman Foundation’s unique programs provide access to specialized paddle sports equipment and professional paddle coaching resources for local youth and people facing life‐changing mental or physical health challenges in the North Lake Tahoe and Truckee region.

These unique programs offer a path to personal growth and recovery for youth and adults with cognitive, sensory, mental health, and physical disabilities through engaging paddle sports experiences and time spent on and in Lake Tahoe’s pristine blue water.

“Very few opportunities exist for people with disabilities to experience Lake Tahoe through direct on-the-water paddle sports activities,” said Justin Broglio, Board President of the Tahoe Waterman Foundation. “We are working to change that.

“Our goal is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to experience the lake’s magic and extraordinary ability to calm the mind, strengthen the body, and restore the spirit.”

Supported by the Alpenglow Sports Winter Speaker Series and The Donor Party, the California Tahoe Conservancy, the Tahoe Fund, the Tahoe Community Foundation, and the High Fives Foundation – the Tahoe Waterman Foundation’s Adaptive and Youth programs are open to youth and adults with cognitive, sensory, physical, and mental health disabilities.

Operating out of Waterman’s Landing Café and Patton Beach in Carnelian Bay, the Foundation’s programs utilize both traditional and adaptive paddle sports equipment, including customized double-ama outrigger canoes built by Kai Wa’a, and prone and standup paddleboards.
