COVID-19 and TEAM TAHOE WATERMAN 2020

LET'S JUST HOPE 2021 TURNS OUT TO BE AN AMAZING PADDLING SEASON! MEASURES WILL BE REVIEWED AS CONDITIONS CHANGES.

For Team Tahoe Waterman members, spring is generally an exciting season.  Members are on the water, enjoying warmer temperatures.  This year, unfortunately, COVID-19 has changed all of our schedules and plans. Instead of paddling, many members, like many others in the paddling community, are at home practicing social distancing.

COVID-19 has created changes in our daily life. More changes are likely in the future.  However, it can’t change something most people reading this believe – paddling is fun, and paddling is an important, even vital, part of our lives.  Tahoe Waternam's team will do everything we can to support fun, safe paddling for the entire family (and if you’re reading this, then you’re a part of that family), and the overall paddling community.

Public health guidelines vary across the country, but there are clear general guidelines we can follow if we choose to paddle.

  • If you’re sick, stay home and contact your doctor for care

  • If you’re exposed to someone with COVID-19, follow your doctor’s guidance on the proper duration for a quarantine

  • Avoid groups of more than ten people

  • Maintain at least six feet of separation between people at all times. Paddling and outdoor activities are good options

  • Maintain hygiene – wash your hands frequently and clean surfaces you touch

  • Be sure to follow state and local rules for quarantine and isolation if you do travel

  • Paddle well below your skill level to reduce the risk of injury and need for rescue

  • Respect the communities in which we paddle – be sure to not do anything that might stress local healthcare resources.

TEAM TAHOE WATERMAN

Team Tahoe Waterman is based on the Northshore of Lake Tahoe, California. Our training and our competition coaching programs, the competition team, and the training groups offer a unique, dynamic waterman environment in which participants master the mental, physical and technical skills of paddle sports in preparation for competitions and/or overall fitness, water safety, and aquatic lifestyle. Our programs are designed with the whole athlete in mind with a comprehensive humanistic approach looking a the big picture, and the potential incremental gains for athletes of all ages.

Wategrom Team paddling programs create a unique and dynamic waterman environment and give active children access to paddle sports education, the opportunity to master the mental, physical and technical skills needed in sports.

Our Team programs support the mindset of beach life, caring for the environment, having fun with like-minded people, getting fitter and stronger, and gaining life experiences while improving life skills. No doubt spending time with the Team Tahoe Waterman crew will bring inspiration to the entire family.
